Fun Wedding Cake Ideas

From our wedding last year {CLICK HERE to see more wedding posts}, I am still signed up to rather a large amount of wedding inspiration websites and newsletters. For the most part I tend to delete each one that I get, but this one in particular caught my eye as each of the cakes below could be used at any celebration, not just for a wedding.

And aren't these idea's lovely!

And I had to throw in some photographs of our yummy wedding cake too, as well as our cupcakes and candy bar...just for fun <3

What's your favourite flavour of cake or cupcakes?

I have to say that for me, vanilla and redvelvet will always take the cake <3

Our Wedding {table decor}

Just over two months ago, I married the man of my dreams...a Farmboy from a tiny little town called Creighton. We got married on his family dairy farm after 6 months of planning, cutting, pasting, sticking, and making tables.

I will be doing a series of short posts of the different elements of our wedding, click here to see more of our wedding.

Thanks for reading and following along, I appreciate each and every comment/view from all of you :)

Here are some of the photographs (taken by the wonderfully talented Jacki Bruniquel) of our table decor...

Heart Bunting {wedding DIY}

In the search for the perfect bunting for our wedding {and the cheapest we could get our hands on!} my soon-to-be Aunty Marina had a wonderful idea while perusing down the aisles of Makro. Let's make our own! Ok, I thought not really that original. Let's make our own using paper plates! Um, I thought, now you're getting somewhere...

Here's what resulted from our trip to Makro:

Easy peasy lemon squeezey! I have done a post a while ago on making your own fabric bunting (click here) but I think that these make a nice change don't you think?!

#HuttonWedding...2 weeks to go!

Yesterday marked the two week countdown to our wedding...eek! Here are a few snaps of our time spent on the farm cutting, hammering, sticking, tying and general DIYing in preparation for our big day. A huge thank you to everyone involved, I hope I wasn't too 'Bridezilla' like in my demands :)

Wedding Seating Plan {Inspiration}

Doors and window panes make for gorgeous additions to any rustic or farm style wedding. If you're lucky enough to get your hands on one with the glass in tact, get your writing hand warmed up and get scribbling!

Or what about using cute little pegs and string or bakers twine to create your own unique seating plan. A fun DIY project to do with your bridesmaids :)

Or what about mixing and matching old frames to create a lovely collage of table numbers? Mix and match the colour, texture, shape and size of your frames until you're happy with the look!

Tips for {Wedding Gift Registries} South Africa

With just under 3 months until our big day (eeeeekkkk!) we have lots of time to think about all the goodies we need to make our place feel like a home. As Farmboy and I don't live together, I stay in a little 1 bedroom flat, and he will move in with me once we are wed (oh I just love the sound of that!). So, this means that at the moment, everything is pretty much pink, pink, and pink (with some beige and caramel colours thrown into the mix). The {very manly} shelf that Farmboy built for me to hold all my varsity files was the start of the transition from *my* space to *our* space, and it's going well, slowly, but well.

So, to help you get your new home kitted out in preparation for marriage, here is a list of our favourite gift registry stores here in South Africa:
{just click on the images below to be redirected to their websites}

The following registries (Yuppiechef & GrannyGoose) can be set up and managed online, which makes your life so much easier, and it's way more fun to look in the comfort of your own home or favourite coffee shop, than traipsing round the mall!

Yuppiechef also offer free delivery on all orders, anywhere in South Africa :)

If you come across any others, please pop a comment below :)
